Tattoo aftercare
Proper aftercare is key to keeping your tattoo looking great. Follow our expert tips for smooth healing and long-lasting results. Keep your body art stunning!
Keep the Bandage On
Right after your tattoo session, your artist will cover the area with a bandage or plastic wrap. Keep it on for 2-4 hours to protect the fresh ink from bacteria and dirt.
Tattoo Lotion
After cleaning, apply a thin layer of the recommended tattoo lotion or ointment. This helps moisturize the skin and aids in the healing process. Do this 2-3 times a day for about two weeks or as directed by your artist.
No Scratching or Picking
Your tattoo will likely scab and itch during healing—this is normal! Resist the urge to scratch or pick at it, as this can cause scarring and damage to the design.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water and eat well-balanced meals to help your body heal. Good hydration promotes skin repair, helping your tattoo heal faster and more effectively.
Clean Gently
Once you remove the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap. Use your hands to clean—avoid scrubbing or using a towel. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
environment Exposure
Keep your tattoo away from direct sunlight, as UV rays can cause fading. Also, avoid soaking your tattoo in water—stay out of pools, lakes, hot tubs, and oceans until it's fully healed.
Wear Loose Clothing
Tight clothing can rub against your fresh tattoo and cause irritation. Opt for loose, breathable fabrics to allow the tattoo to heal without interference.
Long-Term Care
Even after your tattoo has healed, continue to protect it with sunscreen whenever exposed to the sun. Moisturize regularly to keep your skin healthy and your tattoo vibrant.
Consult Your Artist if Needed
Always trust your artist's guidance over general advice
